My XSitePro Story/Review

I remember when internet 'started' and how we were surfing all day to get more and more
information. At first, internet was just a giant library of information to browse. Useful and not so useful
information. But it was there. Today internet is being used as a marketing and communication channel and to sell
goods online from companies to customers and even for 'real' people who want to earn money online. And as internet
started to grow and entry barriers getting lower soon software applications came up that promised the user to help
him presenting himself online in a good way.
My first attempt on building websites was with a program called NetObjectsFusion
8. Maybe you have heard of it. I got an official copy from a friend who never used it. But i had seen the
program itself in action at another friends house. So i tried and installed it. NOF offers a large variety of
different applications and you start from scratch so you have total control of every aspect of your site. The
problem is: it took me as a newbie some time to get to know the software and it took me days and weeks to design a
homepage with 2 sites. And they wouldn't deserve to be called 'designed'. They looked horrible. But i didn't knew
any better so i just worked like i thought it would work out. I never understood a lot of the features the software
offered because they were to difficult to implement or i lost to much time in small things instead on concentrating
on the things that would have made me money. So after all the relation of input to output was very bad for me. Lots
of time invested and barely any results. So i had to look for another option.
I heard of Dreamweaver, the rolls royce of webdesign applications. So i installed
a demo version and tried to get used to it. I tried for 4 whole days to just get a single site displayed with no
fancy graphics, just a picture with text and a second page and i had to surrender under all the possibilities
Dreamweaver offered and the fact that you work best with Dreamweaver if you can write html and php. I found DW
really confusing. If you are a real professional or a web agency and have highly skilled people who love to code
than there is nothing better than Dreamweaver. But for me as average joe who wants to have a good looking website
without having to do each and everything by myself this program was definetly not what i would work with. If you
want to give it a try download the free trial at http://www.adobe.com/downloads/
After that i tried another similar software called NVU. NVU is a free editor from
the same people who also work on Firefox and all the other Mozilla stuff so it can't be bad. And it isn't. NVU is
in fact a lot easier to handle than Dreamweaver but despite that fact i got also stuck with this one: no templates,
everything looks complicated, how do i have to do the things so they will show up in the right place where i want
them to be and a whole bunch of other things made me send it directly to my digital trash bin. Isn't there a
software in the world, that is easy to use and where most of the common work is already done for me? Anyway if you
want to try NVU, its free. Get it at http://www.nvu-composer.de/
I also heard rumors that you can design websites with word - but i've never fallen for that idea.
And i never will. I cannot imagine that anyone will ever be able to design a good looking and
functional website with word. If you ever encounter someone who despite common knowledge is actually able
to design such a website with word - let me know.
So here comes XSitePro. Although i had already heard of this software i never took
it into consideration. I heard things that were just too good. Nearly miracolous. Like how easy it is to use and
how nice everything works and more jibberish things that sounded like a lot of hype. And researching the net only
showed lots of english websites and testimonials. I am from Germany and its hard to listen to some testimonials
from guys that are all from abroad. It would be easier if you actually had a real folksman recommending it to you.
But there weren't any. Just lots and lots of positive feedback and reviews from americans, australians, english
people and even from china and singapore! (you can find lots of real testimonials on the official XSitePro homepage) Luckily fate offered me a chance to give XSitePro (version 1) a
try at a friends house. And i was not really amazed, but i found it really easy to use and the results
were okay for me and the design was easily editable. Later when i realized that i had done the same work that
would have taken me days with my old editors i realized that i had to take a closer look at XSitePro. So i tried
another project: i transferred an old website with 12 pages to XSitePro, gave it a new look, insertet a
few little extras like search boxes, social bookmarking sites and AdSense and with just a few clicks
and all from within XSitePro and finally uploaded everything. It took me 4 hours at all. Now lets face the
difference: i evolved from lets say a week for a homepage with 2 sites to a complete good looking website with
12 pages in barely 4 hours! What kind of crazy progress is that?! Of course today i am even faster cause i got
used to it and XSitePro 2 offers a lot more common features just with the click of a mouse (see english video on
official home-page). When XSitePro 2 got announced they stated that every customer of Version 1
will get Version 2 at no cost. So i bought XSitePro V1 and 'played' more with it. It really was that easy. It
was fun. I was almost satisfied with Version 1 and couldn't think what V2 could be doing better. But oh boy,
Version 2 really took webdesign into a whole new level with hundreds of well designed, good looking templates,
even more and easy to insert widgets and applications and tons of stuff (read Warum XSitePro 2 or if you prefer the english version just go
once more to the official home-page. ;) XSitePro 2 now makes it even easier to design websites that look good.
(just take a look at this website) It is so easy that even newbies are confident building websites with it. All
you have to do is pick your template, insert your text, change what you don't like, insert your photos and some
other stuff and press publish. It really is as easy as it could be. You won't find another application that
let's you publish websites more easily than XSitePro 2 and with the 30 day trial version you have all the time
you'll ever need to make sure it really is the #1 tool for all your website issues. So go and download your free
trial at the home of XSP2.
